Red Chalcedony and Smoky Crystal Drop Earrings | Mandala Filigree Stud | Gold Plated | Handmade Statement Earrings
A deep red teardrop, a smoky faceted bead, and a mandala of gold at the top — warm, autumnal colour with real drama.
Each earring is anchored by a faceted red chalcedony pear, approximately 22 x 12mm, its rich, warm colour and faceted cut catching the light beautifully as it moves. Above it, four graduated Anahi ametrine plain rondelles bring a soft, contrasting shimmer, followed by an 8mm faceted smoky red crystal bead that echoes the chalcedony's tone in a different texture entirely. Gold beads punctuate the design throughout, and the whole thing hangs from a striking 14mm mandala-style filigree cut stud with a butterfly fastening — an intricate, lacy detail that catches light even before the drop begins.

What is Red Chalcedony?
Red chalcedony is a variety of quartz prized for its smooth, waxy lustre and warm, saturated colour — ranging from soft coral to the deep, brick-red tone seen in these drops. Chalcedony has been used in jewellery for thousands of years, valued for taking a beautiful polish and holding facets well, giving it real depth and shine when cut, as it is here.
What is Anahi Ametrine?
Ametrine is a naturally occurring quartz that displays both amethyst's violet and citrine's golden tones within a single crystal — a genuine rarity in the mineral world. Almost all of the world's supply comes from a single source: the Anahi mine in Bolivia, discovered, according to legend, as part of a 17th-century Spanish conquistador's dowry.
A genuinely rich, warm-toned pair — perfect for autumn and winter styling, but with enough elegance to work year-round. A lovely gift for anyone drawn to deep, warm colour and real gemstone detail.
Caring for your earrings:
A little care keeps every element looking its best:
- 🚿 Keep them dry — remove before swimming, bathing, or showering
- 🧴 Avoid perfume & products — apply fragrance and hairspray before putting your earrings on
- 😴 Take them off before bed — protects the stones and the delicate filigree detailing
- 🫧 Clean gently — wipe with a soft barely-damp cloth; never soak
- 📦 Store flat or hanging — keep in a soft pouch or lined jewellery box, away from anything that could tangle the drops
- ✨ Handle the filigree stud gently — the delicate cut-out design can bend if snagged
Each pair is handmade and entirely unique — the natural colour variation in the chalcedony and ametrine means your earrings are genuinely one of a kind.
