Murano Glass & Sterling Silver Slider Bracelet | Verde Marino Caramella Pastiglia Beads | Handmade Italian Glass Bracelet
Venice called. It sent its finest glass.
There are glass beads, and then there are Murano glass beads. And there is absolutely no comparison between the two.
For over seven hundred years, the glassmakers of Murano — a small island in the Venetian lagoon — have been producing glass of extraordinary quality, complexity, and beauty using techniques passed down through generations of master craftspeople. These Verde Marino Caramella Pastiglia beads are a magnificent example of that tradition at its finest. Each one is a plump, perfectly rounded 12mm sphere of vivid verde marino — that extraordinary teal-green that sits somewhere between emerald and peacock, metallic and luminous and impossibly rich — decorated with raised pastiglia ornament: swirling black designs applied to the surface of each bead in a technique that has been practised in Venice since the Renaissance.
Three of these extraordinary beads sit at the centre of a beautifully simple sterling silver slider bracelet — flanked by delicate sterling silver round beads and separated by two ornate etched 4mm sterling silver spacer beads that add a considered, artisanal detail to complement the handmade quality of the glass. The bracelet hangs on a fine sterling silver chain with a smooth, ornately decorated pull-through slider bead and silver ball ends — fully adjustable to any wrist size, effortlessly elegant in every detail.

What is Murano Glass? Murano glass is made exclusively on the island of Murano in the Venetian lagoon, Italy — the home of fine glassmaking since 1291, when the Republic of Venice moved its glassmakers to the island to protect the city from fire. The techniques used today are largely unchanged from those developed during the Renaissance. Pastiglia is one of the most distinctive Murano decorative techniques — raised, textured surface decoration applied to the hot glass, creating the swirling relief patterns you see on each bead. Verde Marino — literally "sea green" — is one of the most beloved and iconic Murano colour families: that deep, metallic teal that captures the colour of the Venetian lagoon in afternoon light.
When you wear Murano glass, you are wearing a piece of one of the world's oldest and most celebrated artistic traditions. That is not nothing.
The vivid teal of the beads is a genuinely spectacular colour — rich and jewel-like, it works magnificently against white, cream, black, and navy, and brings a vibrant shot of colour to any neutral outfit. The sterling silver setting keeps everything clean, cool, and luxurious.
A bracelet for someone who knows their craft. Who appreciates the difference between mass-produced and handmade. Who understands that some things are worth paying for — and that genuine Murano glass on sterling silver is absolutely one of those things.
An exceptional gift — for an Italy lover, a glass enthusiast, a collector of beautiful things, or anyone who deserves something genuinely, historically, extraordinarily special.
Caring for your bracelet:
Murano glass and sterling silver both deserve attentive care:
- 🚿 Keep it dry — remove before swimming, bathing, or washing up; water can affect both the sterling silver chain and the slider mechanism
- 🧴 Avoid perfume & products — apply fragrance, hand cream, and lotions before putting your bracelet on; chemicals can dull the glass surface and affect the silver
- 😴 Take it off before bed — protects both the glass beads and the delicate chain
- 🫧 Clean very gently — wipe each Murano bead with a soft barely-damp cloth and dry immediately; clean the sterling silver with a soft silver polishing cloth; never soak
- 📦 Store carefully — Murano glass beads, while robust, can chip if knocked against hard surfaces; store in a soft pouch or lined jewellery box, separately from other pieces
- 🌊 Protect the pastiglia decoration — the raised surface decoration is part of what makes these beads extraordinary; handle gently and avoid abrasive surfaces
- 💫 Handle the slider gently — ease smoothly to adjust; avoid sharp tugging which could stress the fine chain
Genuine Murano glass only becomes more precious with time — a piece of living craft history on your wrist, every single day.
Each bracelet is handmade and entirely unique — the pastiglia decoration and colour depth within each Murano bead are individually applied by hand, making every piece genuinely one of a kind.
